As it had been quite some time since I had sold or purchased a home, and given the crazy current real estate market, I knew I needed someone who was not only knowledgeable but could also keep on top of all the fast-moving parts in order to sell my parents' home. Not only was this transaction my responsibility as trustee of the estate, it also presented many emotional elements for me. Jane came through in all ways possible -- keeping me focused on the ultimate goal while still acknowledging and respecting the personal struggles of selling my folks' home. She provided me with great information and input through continuous personal contact. While the decision was made to sell the home "as is," and it posed an additional challenge of finding comparable homes in the area to support the asking price, through Jane's over and above efforts, we were ultimately successful. We retained Jane Ruda as listing broker for my elderly mother as she was going through the absolute worst possible situation. The details of the situation were frankly unbelievable involving medical issues, divorce, fraud, theft, court orders, substantial property damage that needed renovation after the contract and more. All while Covid-19 was wreaking havoc on the world and my mother was in rehab and nursing facilities. I am writing this note because I want to comment on the genuine pleasure it was to work with Jane Ruda in selling my parents' townhouse in St Charles. At all times, Jane was a consummate professional with helpful ideas and feedback to sell the townhouse. Jane was available and responded promptly day or night, weekends and holidays. She spent time with us, listening to our concerns and comments...we never felt pressured or as if she didn't have time for us. Numerous times, she went above and beyond her contract commitment with us, from finding a cleaning lady (at a reasonable price) to recommending an electrician (also at a reasonable price!) to recommending a carpet installer, to name a just few examples!
Most of all, Jane was truly a wonderful person with integrity who treated us with with respect and understanding, which meant so much during a difficult downsizing move for my elderly parents. I cannot say enough and would highly recommend her to anyone selling their home...
